Remotely updating your cached credentials
The computer account for GU managed workstations is typically your NetID and NetID Password. This password is cached on the computer so you can still log in to the computer when you are not on the GU network or do not have any network connection. When you change your NetID password you can use the steps below to update and synchronize your computer account.
1. Log out of all applications on workstation.
2. Change your NetID password
3. Log into VPN with new NetID password
4. Perform a Screen lock (Ctrl-Alt-Delete) while on VPN
5. Unlock your computer and you will be prompted for your new password.
Now your subsequent computer logins will use your new NetID password.
