What do I have to do to obtain my e-mail alias?
To obtain your alias e-mail address, just do the following:
- Log in to the GMS Web site (gms.georgetown.edu).
- Click on the “Personal Information” icon, and then click the “Preferred Name” listing.
- Change the first and/or last name fields of your name, if desired, and then click Submit; click Cancel if you don’t want to make any changes to your Preferred Name.
- If you do not want to use your legal name as your Preferred Name, make sure the option “Use Legal Name as Preferred Name” is unchecked.
- Your request will be routed to your HR Contact for approval. (Please allow 24 hours for the approval to take effect.)
- Go to the email alias claim page to confirm your new Preferred Name and to claim your alias.
